Fortunately it’s as functional as it is cool to look at. The cage is designed to add as many peripherals as you can fit while expanding hand-holdable options for your camera system. It works exceptionally well with Black Magic cameras so that the cameras can be mounted both at the bottom via a quick release as well as the top using threaded screw mounts, but it can also be used with any camera that fits- especially DSLRs.
