You won’t lose any communication ability with the camera - so you can shoot without compromising any functionality. Even though you’re adding an extra piece between the lens and camera, the RF 1.4x Teleconverter is dust, water, and weather resistant. You don’t have to worry that much about shooting conditions!
We think it’s worth mentioning that adding an extender to your lens setup will also decrease your aperture speed by one stop. For example, the RF 800mm f/11 with the 1.4x extender will effectively become 1,120mm f/16.
